Blurb[]

Angelica the Angel Fairy makes sure people care good and kind at Christmas time, but when Jack Frost steals her three magic items everyone starts being naughty! Can Kirsty and Rachel restore the peace in time for Christmas?

Appearance[]

Angelica has long, curly auburn hair held back by a rainbow hairband. She wears a silvery-white silk dress with a fluted hem trimmed with swirling crystals and gold sparkly strapped sandals. Her wings are feathered and purple, orange, yellow and pink tinted.

Symbol: Crystal 'S' shapes.

Magic Objects/Job[]

Magic Objects:

  1. The Sparkly Pan Pipes: when Angelica plays a Christmas tune, it makes sure everybody stays well-behaved and isn't naughty.
  2. The Snow White Feather: makes sure that all fairies and humans are kind and gentle to each other. With it missing, people are being rude.
  3. The Enchanted Scroll: has all the names, so Santa Claus knows which child has been good.

Job: Angelica's job is to make sure that everybody behaves nicely at Christmas time.

Jack Frost's Poem[]

Christmas angels shine and glitter,

But every year I grow more bitter.

Why does Santa only treat,

Children who are kind and sweet?

Pretty gifts beneath the tree,

Those presents should belong to me!

Three magic objects in my fist,

Will get my name on Santa's list.

The Sparkly Panpipes[]

Kirsty is staying at Rachel's for the first half of the Christmas holidays and are organising a Christmas fair with Rachel’s Brownie troupe. As the fair opens and shoppers mill around, Rachel and Kirsty spot the other Brownies messing around, disrupting shoppers and abandoning their stalls.

Among the chaos, the girls can hear tinkling bells and follow the sound to a mitten on the winter woollies stall. Out flutters a fairy, Melodie the Music Fairy, who explains some special pan pipes have been stolen from Angelica the Angel Fairy, as well as her other objects.

She takes them to Fairyland and leads them to the Seeing Pool, where Angelica is sitting sadly. The girls give her comfort in knowing they’ll help her retrieve her objects, then Erin the Firebird Fairy and her firebird Giggles appears and Giggles touches his tail feather into the pool, triggering an image of Jack Frost in his Ice Castle playing the panpipes to appear. That’s where they need to go.

Rachel, Kirsty and Angelica make their way inside the castle and overhear Jack Frost ordering around his goblins in between puffing on the panpipes in the throne room. Sneaking inside, the fairies see the panpipes in Jack Frost’s hand, as well as the goblins’ weak attempt to decorate the hall Christmassily. Angelica tries to confront Jack Frost, explaining the panpipes make people obey commands, rather than make people behave nicely, but he’s too busy tooting away to see her.

The fairies fly up to him and cover the panpipe holes to shut him up while Angelica explains the purpose of them. Just like that, he believes her and throws the panpipes away, letting Angelica scoop them up and turn them back into fairy-size. She takes the girls back to Tippington and stays with the girls as they man their stall.

The Snow-White Feather[]

The next day, the Brownie group have gathered outside Greenacre Rest Home where thy will entertain the residents and gift them with hampers. The owner, Mrs Pepper, welcomes them in and the Brownie group start to chat with the elderly residents, but none of them are interested.

Some are downright rude and Rachel and Kirsty deduce they must be because Jack Frost has Angelica’s feather. Angelica appears from out of the record player. She tells them at Gabriella the Snow Kingdom Fairy told her she’d seen goblins heading to the human world and the goblins led Angelica to the care home. They quickly identify one care worker is a goblin and follow him to find many other goblins running riot around the care home.

The goblins end up pillow-fighting each other in a bedroom, scattering tons of white feathers. Then the goblins remember they hid Angelica’s feather in one of these pillows and begin trying to sift through them to find it, the girls and Angelica deciding to join in too.

As two goblins begin fighting again, Angelica yells out that she’s spotted the feather, but a goblin grabs it before Rachel or Kirsty can.

Angelica pleads with him to give her the feather and thanks to the feather’s kind-making magic, he complies, letting go of the feather and letting Angelica take it. The other goblins are watching this pan out in horror and run away. Angelica says goodbye to the girls and vanishes, leaving them to rejoin their Brownie group. The residents have cheered up, listening to the Brownies sing carols and then the Brownies hand out presents.

The Enchanted Name Scroll[]

On Christmas Eve, the Brownies are visiting Tippington Children’s Hospital to cheer up the children who are kept in over Christmas. One girl called Emily voices her concern that Santa Claus won’t know where to deliver their presents. Meanwhile, it’s time for a break and while the Brownies are enjoying a snack, three hospital porters fall over the food trolley and scamper off.

Rachel recognises one is Jack Frost. She and Kirsty slip away and watch Jack Frost and the goblins scheming with the name scroll. Angelica appears just in time to see Jack Frost start stomping down the hospital corridors looking for a pen, since his name isn’t on the list.

Angelica turns the girls into fairies and watch Jack Frost, now in possession of a pen, try to scrawl his name on the scroll, but nothing works since your name appears by magic if you deserve to be on the good list. Just as he’s about to give up, a doctor enters the bay and asks them what they’re doing.

Jack Frost tries to get the doctor to sign the scroll, but the doctor is more concerned about the pale blue colour of Jack Frost and the green colour of the two goblins, tucking them into hospital beds and examining them. Jack Frost manages to freeze the thermometer so the doctor piles hot water bottles and blankets onto him. He begins to melt.

While he’s incapacitated, the fairies fly up to him, asking to give the scroll back. If he does, he may get to be on Santa’s good list. He grudgingly agrees and Angelica takes the scroll from under his blankets. Jack Frost’s name appears on it and he and his goblins gladly magic themselves home. Rachel and Kirsty say goodbye to Angelica as she leaves to give the scroll to Santa in the North Pole. A doll that looks like Angelica appears in Kirsty’s hand and she decides she will give it to Emily.
