After breakfast, Rachel and Kirsty go into the garden to water the plants and they help Rachel’s neighbour Bailey rescue his cat Pushkin from the garden shed roof. Ariana appears and asks the girls for their help, so the girls go up to Aunt Lesley and ask her to take them to the open day at the fire station. She agrees and takes them to the fire station, where other people are waiting for the open day to start. Lesley takes them inside to meet her firefighter friend Isobel when they look up the fireman’s pole to see all the firefighters peering at them, too scared to slide down. While Lesley goes upstairs to see what’s wrong, the girls return outside where four firefighters dressed in green are doing a hose demonstration. They’re Goblins, and one of them is wearing Ariana’s magic helmet.

After the goblins drench everyone with water, a loudspeaker announces an emergency, and the goblins speed off in a fire engine. The girls turn into fairies and follow the fire engine to Bailey’s house, where Pushkin is now stuck up a tree. The goblins start arguing over who’s the bravest, and Bailey gets upset since he just wants someone to rescue his cat. The girls fly up to Pushkin and encourage her to jump down the branches. By the time Pushkin’s got herself down, the goblins begin trying to climb up the tree. The lead firefighter goblin shouts at them, lecturing them on firefighting etiquette.

While they’re distracted, the girls in human form turn on the hose and target the goblins, making the helmet fly off the one goblin’s head. Ariana catches it and the goblins are worried about what Jack Frost will say. Ariana magics them some toy fire engines and the goblins run off playing with them. She thanks the girls and vanishes. The girls return to the fire station and watch the demonstration. Afterwards, they chat to Isobel and she lets them slide down the pole. Rachel and Kirsty comment on how much they enjoy hearing about community heroes.

Trivia[]
