Kirsty and Rachel hiding Easter eggs

Rachel and Kirsty hiding Easter eggs

Rachel and Kirsty are helping set up an Easter egg hunt for five-year-old Jane Dillon, Kirsty’s neighbour, who is very excited because several of her friends have been invited and her parents have promised her a special Easter present. Mrs Dillon leads Jane away and Mr Dillon shows them the special present: a black lop-eared bunny in a large cardboard box. The girls hide the rest of the chocolate eggs just before Jane’s friends arrive, soon the yard is full of children finding eggs. One girl shouts that she’s seen the Easter Bunny, pointing to a hollow under a tree where she claims a pink bunny disappeared. Rachel notices a sparkle of fairy magic and points it out to Kirsty once the girl goes looking for more eggs. Then a boy says he sees the Easter Bunny too and this time Rachel and Kirsty see a lilac-coloured rabbit under a bush before it disappears with more sparkles. The children all begin searching and calling for the Easter Bunny while the girls wonder how to get the fairy pet away safely and then the bunny reappears, this time yellow, on the patio table and starts nibbling at a plate of salad. Jane cautiously approaches and pets the bunny, wishing aloud she had one of her own, before Rachel picks it up gently and tells the children that the Easter Bunny is tired and has to go home.

Goblins with Misty

Goblins with Misty

Once Kirsty tells the Dillons she and Rachel had to run home for something, they set off for Kirsty’s house, wondering if they should use their Lockets to take the bunny to Fairyland. They haven’t got far before they hear goblin laughter from a tree above them and fall into a covered pit dug in the path. One goblin snatches the magic bunny from Rachel and they all run toward the Dillons' house while the girls try to climb out of the pit. Soon, Bella the Bunny Fairy appears and turns the girls into fairies to rescue her bunny, whose name is Misty. They find the goblins under an open window, arguing over who should climb up and take the basket of chocolate eggs on the sill. Bella tells Kirsty that Misty can’t disappear when being held while Rachel notices a blue toy bunny in the basket that looks kind of like Misty. She tells Bella and Kirsty her idea and the girls turn back into humans, go inside the house and borrow the toy bunny with Mrs Dillon’s permission. Back outside, Kirsty covers up the goblins’ pit trap again while Bella produces a long gold string from her wand that Rachel ties around the toy bunny. Bella writes “Turn blue” in fairy dust and sends the message around the house to where Misty can see it. The girls hide and watch as Misty reads the fading message and turns blue, as soon as the goblins notice, they begin arguing and blaming each other for changing the bunny’s colour. Bella sends another message that reads “Follow me” and turns the girls into fairies again

Flying Misty

Misty flies to Bella

Misty escapes from the distracted goblin’s grip and bounds through the air to Bella, shrinking to her normal size on the way. When the goblins give chase, Rachel and Kirsty pull on the string and the toy bunny begins bouncing away towards the trap. The girls slow down at the trap so the goblins can catch up and all four fall into the hole as the girls let go of the string so they don’t get pulled in as well. A goblin throws the toy bunny out of the hole as soon as he realises it isn’t real.

Sooty is found!

Misty twitches her nose to tell Bella why she came to the Dillons, apparently there’s a lost bunny nearby. It turns out to be the black bunny for Jane, which had chewed its way out of the box. The girls manage to return the bunny, with Bella fixing the hole in the box, just before Mr Dillon announces it’s time for the special present. Jane is delighted with her new pet, naming it Sooty and Misty is so happy about Sooty finding a home that she’s turning all different colours in Bella’s arms. Rachel remembers the toy rabbit she’s holding and returns it to the basket just in time for everyone to be offered chocolate eggs.
