Rachel and Kirsty are sad because they're almost out of taster classes to do. Lucy, the organiser at the Cool Kids Leisure Centre, invites them to take part in a climbing class. The instructor introduces himself as Mitchell, and tells the girls they'll have no problem picking up the sport. However, when they return to the gym, he realises even experienced climbers are struggling! Only three boys near the top seem to be succeeding, but Mitchell tells them off for endangering themselves. He tries to climb up to help the climbers, but finds himself dizzy and scared. Rachel has the idea to position trampolines under the wall and have the climbers jump off, which works, although the three boys at the top don't come down.
Mitchell asks the girls to tell Lucy he'll be stopping the class early but when the girls arrive at the front desk, Lucy isn't there. A harsh voice tells them to go away, and Kirsty recognises it as belonging to Jilly Chilly. When she learns they're trying to foil her brother's plans, she says she'll help, but her plans all involve destroying the leisure centre. Eventually she storms off, plotting on her own. Mitchell comes in, telling the girls a man in a baseball cap has told him that the centre will be closing early, and asking them to help put away the ropes. The girls notice that the three boys are still on the wall, but are distracted by the rope magically glowing. Callie the Climbing Fairy appears and the girls tell her what's been happening. They finally realise the boys on the wall are goblins!
Mitchell tells everyone to gather in the entrance to find out what's going on. The girls say they'll just finish putting away the ropes, and Mitchell tries to stay to get the goblins down. The man in the baseball cap offers to stay and get them down and the girls recognise the voice as belonging to Jack Frost. The girls and Callie hide in a storeroom and Callie turns them into fairies. In the gym, Jack Frost is shouting at his goblins to come down. Finally, the goblins comply, and one of them hands over Callie's bracelet. Jack sends them away and goes to bounce on the trampoline. He's not very fit and only manages about three bounces before he collapses, exhausted. The fairies dart forward, planning to grab the bracelet while he's face-down.
Just then, the door bursts open and the three fairies hide under the trampoline. A woman wearing heels marches in and introduces herself as Flopsy Popsydoodle, a jewellery expert. She is wearing a large floppy hat that covers her face. She compliments Jack's bracelet and asks to take a closer look, but Jack refuses to take it off his wrist. Rachel realises the woman is Jilly Chilly!
Jack Frost is angry and takes out his wand, threatening the 'jewellery expert'. He calls her a 'silly little human' and she almost breaks her cover in anger at being called a human. Jack assumes she must be Rachel or Kirsty and she starts to march away. He uses his magic to tie her up with the climbing ropes. The girls need to get Jack to leave the room so they can rescue Jilly Chilly. Rachel has the idea to use the loud speakers and Callie uses her magic to make it seem like Rachel's voice is coming through the speaker. She tells Jack Frost to go to reception and he does so. The fairies sneak out and Callie tries to use her magic to untie Jilly Chilly, but as she's tied up with climbing ropes her magic isn't working. The girls ask Callie to turn them back into humans and they try to untie the rope themselves.
Jack Frost comes back in with some goblins and he's angry. He realises who Jilly Chilly is and it only makes him angrier. He says he's fit enough already from all his exercise and will be able to beat her in the arm wrestling competition. Kirsty is mad, and tells him he barely exercised. Rachel calls him a cheat. This makes him even angrier and he shouts that he doesn't need the bracelet to be fit and strong. Kirsty tells him to prove it and challenges him to a climbing competition without the bracelet. If he wins, he can keep it, but if she wins, Callie gets it back. Rachel is worried about her friend but Callie gives her an encouraging kiss on the cheek. Jack Frost agrees and uses his magic to take them to the ice cliffs in Fairyland. One of the goblins angrily points out that she might use her wings to climb higher, but Kirsty tells him she's no cheat. Callie is worried it's too dangerous, but Kirsty says she can always use her wings if she falls. Rachel hugs Kirsty and wishes her luck.
Jack Frost counts them in and both he and Kirsty start to climb. The goblins and fairies shout encouragement at their competitors. Jack Frost is climbing much higher than Kirsty and she starts to lose hope, but Callie realises Jack Frost is climbing better than he should. Rachel looks over to the bracelet in one of the goblins' hands, but realises it's not glowing like before. Then she realises that Jack's tricked them, and he still has the magical bracelet. Jilly Chilly tells Rachel and Callie that she has an idea, and they untie her finally. She uses her magic to create a little tornado of hailstones that reach up into Jack Frost's pocket and takes out the bracelet. It drops down into Callie's hand. Kirsty climbs up to Jack Frost and Rachel flies up. Together, they use their wings to bring all three of them down. Jack Frost is angry, accusing them of being cheats, but Callie points out that it was he who was cheating. Jilly Chilly challenges him to their arm-wrestling match and the two of them and the goblins leave, although she points out to the girls that they're even and they're not friends.
The fairies just laugh and Kirsty tells the others that she was scared. Rachel congratulates her bravery and Callie hopes she'll keep climbing. The two humans agree that they'll choose the climbing club. They all hug and then Callie uses her magic to send them back to the human world. As they go, they catch a glimpse of the other After School Sports Fairies. Back at the leisure centre, Mitchell announces that the centre isn't closing early and he feels well enough to get back to climbing!
Trivia[]
