It is Rachel and Kirsty's last day on Rainspell Island, and they and their parents are going to the Summer Friends Club barbecue. On the way, they see Heather the ice cream seller, and spot their friends Lara and Oscar at the barbecue. Lara has dropped her ice cream, but Oscar doesn't care, causing them to fall out. Another boy Eric knocks over some drinks with his football but doesn't care. Meanwhile, people are queueing to get food when Mr Walker bursts out the the crowd triumphantly holding a burger - the last one. Rachel, Kirsty, Mrs Walker, Mr and Mrs Tate are shocked as it's not like him at all. Rachel begins to cry.
The girls go to say hi to Ginny and Jen who are arguing about giving a speech. When the world seem to be falling apart, the girls spot Clare the Caring Fairy in a water cooler and let her out. They begin looking for Clare's mood ring. A crowd of people have started waving and pointing at someone, and people seem to be treating them like royalty. Clare turns the girls into fairies so they can see who it is - it's Jack Frost. People keep giving him food and pampering him. The fairies perch on a branch of a tree Jack Frost is under and begin talking about ice cream. This gives Jack Frost a craving for ice cream, and sends the crowd off to get some. He falls asleep, leaving the mood ring that's on his finger on display.
The fairies try to prise it off but Jack Frost wakes up, swatting them away. He runs off, and the fairies follow him to his tent, but aren't able to get in. Rachel has an idea to magic him up a really delicious ice cream so he'll come out of the tent. Jack Frost peeks through and sees it, and reaches out to grab it, but Kirsty and Clare hold onto his wrist and Rachel tugs the ring off his finger. Enraged, Jack Frost storms out of the tent. He insists he's made lots of friends and learnt a lot about friendship, but is shocked when the fairies tell him friendship isn't getting people to do things for him. They notice a change of mood in Jack Frost, and he vows to hold an ice cream party for all his goblin friends. He also invites the Friendship Fairies, so everyone goes to his Ice Castle.
When the girls, the other Friendship Fairies, Florence the Friendship Fairy and Becky the Best Friend Fairy arrive, the party is in full swing. The Gobolicious Band are performing, goblins are dancing, and there is no shortage of ice cream. The girls joyfully witness Jack Frost greeting his friends and being kind to them. The Friendship Fairies give Rachel and Kirsty fairy-shaped charms to add to their friendship bracelets, and everyone says goodbye.
Rachel and Kirsty are sent back to the barbecue party. Mr Walker is normal again, and Lara and Oscar ask if they can be pen pals. Ginny and Jen give their speech thanking everyone for making their club a success. Later on, they tell Rachel and Kirsty they admire their friendship as they never seem to fall out, and Rachel and Kirsty reflect on their friendship that began here on Rainspell Island.
