Mrs Tate gives the girls some spending money
Rachel, Kirsty and Mrs Tate are seeing Aunt Harri off as she leaves for work. Mrs Tate allows the girls to look around the market stalls and the girls go to the ice cream van. The ice cream man Charlie gives the girls some ice cream samples, but they all taste flavourless and then melt. As Charlie searches through his van for more ice cream, the girls find Esme the Ice Cream Fairy hiding in the van and tell her how the ice cream taste terrible. At that moment, Charlie reappears and says all his ice cream melted, so he’ll have to close while he sorts it out. The girls move on through the market, bumping into Kirsty’s schoolmates Liam and Jamal. They’re holding ice cream which tastes great and direct them to the bright green van they got them from. The girls find goblins in the van and turn into fairies to sneak inside to explore.
Rachel and Kirsty disguised as goblins to start a food fight
They overhear the goblins talking about saving enough ice cream for Jack Frost’s swimming pool. While they bicker over their favourite flavours, the girls search through the van and in their pockets but there’s no sign of the magic charm. Rachel theories the charm might be hidden under one of the goblins’ hats and Kirsty suggests they instigate a food fight that will knock their hats off.
The goblins with a bathtub of ice cream
Esme enchants her voice to make it sound like a loudspeaker, announcing the ice cream has sold out, making the queue clear. Then she turns the girls into goblin ice cream vendors. The girls start to throw ice cream at each other and soon enough the other goblins join in. Eventually they find the charm under one goblin’s hat and Esme flies over to get it, but the goblins see her and run away.
Kirsty knows how to corner them and the girls call out directions on avoiding Esme to the goblin. When he hits a dead-end, Rachel tells the goblin to throw the charm to her and he does, but she hands it to Esme and their goblin disguises melt away. The goblins are worried about Jack Frost’s reaction to their failure, so Esme magics them a bathtub of ice cream instead and the goblins leave graciously. The girls return to the marketplace where they see a long line outside Charlie’s ice cream van. Esme goes back to Fairyland and the girls get their ice creams.
