Lauren the Puppy Fairy is the fourth fairy in the Pet Keeper Fairies series.

Fairy Profile from the Official RM Facebook Page[]

Lauren looks after Sunny, the magic pet spaniel puppy. Sunny and the rest of the magic pets can fly through the air just by moving their legs. No wings required! Lauren and Sunny love to entertain the others with their newest trick, although sometimes it's hard to tell who is training whom. Lauren's magic wand sends out a dazzling shower of pink fairy magic.
Lauren is very energetic and a little bit clumsy, just like a puppy. She tends to accidentally knock things over. Together, Lauren and Sunny love to run, play fetch, and chase squirrels.

Blurb[]

Kirsty and Rachel have their hands full with Bouncer the puppy. Perhaps he will help them find Lauren's magical missing pet. But can the girls keep the puppies out of the goblins' clutches?

Appearance[]

Lauren has long, wavy light brown hair held back by pink, flower-shaped hair clips. She wears a pink vest top, light pink cargo pants with flower pockets, pink trainers, and pink bangles. Her wings are diamond-shaped and light pink-tinted.

Symbol: Light pink and dark pink flowers.

Magical animal/Job[]

Magic Animal: Sunny the puppy.

Job: She makes sure puppies stay safe and find new homes.

Rachel and Kirsty are admiring the vegetables and flowers on display as the Wetherbury Spring Fair wraps up. They decide to take one last look at the animal shelter’s booth to see if the four puppies there have been adopted, and it turns out there’s one left: a black and white puppy that’s been temporarily named Bouncer by Mr. Gregory, the vet running the booth. The girls eagerly agree when Mr. Gregory asks them to take Bouncer for a walk as he takes down the booth. Soon, Bouncer is tugging at the leash - he’s spotted another dog, a brown spaniel puppy. The two dogs greet each other, then the spaniel runs off and Bouncer follows, his leash suddenly unhooked somehow. Dismayed, the girls chase after the puppies and find them playing in a fenced corner of the fairgrounds. Kirsty notices a name tag on the spaniel’s collar and reads the name “Sunny”. Just then, a red rubber ball appears with a puff of sparkles in front of Sunny, and the puppies begin to play with it. The girls are sure Sunny must be a magic fairy pet, especially after he makes a meaty bone appear to distract Bouncer when the ball rolls through a gate to the road. Kirsty reattaches Bouncer’s leash as Lauren the Puppy Fairy rides down to them clutching a balloon string. She thanks the girls for finding Sunny and greets both puppies. Kirsty says they’re lucky to have found him without seeing goblins, speaking too soon.

Five laughing goblins teeter towards them on a silver scooter - two kicking and three on the handlebars. They push Lauren off Sunny’s back and grab both puppies, not knowing which one is the magic one, then make a getaway downhill on the scooter. Even when Lauren turns the girls into fairies, they aren’t fast enough to catch up even as the goblins fight over which way to go and struggle to hold onto the puppies. Kirsty sees they’re getting close to a half-deflated bouncy castle and, remembering that goblins have been scared of bigger dogs in the past, asks Lauren to make a big dog appear in front of the scooter. With a burst of pink sparkles from Lauren’s wand, a zebra-striped shepherd dog appears and barks fiercely at the goblins, who swerve straight into the bouncy castle just as Kirsty planned. Lauren makes the stripy dog disappear again as Sunny and Bouncer emerge, and Sunny shrinks to his normal size and bounds through the air to her, which confuses Bouncer. Lauren turns the girls back into humans as the bouncy castle operator approaches (she and Sunny hide in Rachel’s pocket). The man greets Bouncer first, remarking that his daughter Annie would love a dog like him and he’s been considering giving Annie a puppy for her sixth birthday next week. He walks around the bouncy castle just in time not to notice the grumbling goblins stomping away, dragging the scooter behind them.

Annie comes looking for her father then, and notices Bouncer right away. The puppy greets her happily, and Rachel offers to let Annie hold the leash. Soon she and the puppy are playing with Annie’s shoelace, and Kirsty notices a sparkling in the air around the two. Annie’s father reappears and asks who the puppy belongs to, and Rachel explains he’s up for adoption. Annie is excited, and her father says they can talk to Mr. Gregory once the bouncy castle is put away. Lauren thanks the girls and tells them to say goodbye to “Barney” as she and Sunny return to Fairyland. The girls are momentarily confused until they overhear that Annie will be keeping the puppy and Barney is Bouncer’s new name.

Trivia[]

  • Rachel has a dog named Buttons.
  • In Fairyland, pets choose their owners - unlike in the human world, where it's the other way around.
