At the Rainspell Island Music Festival, Rachel and Kirsty are exploring Star Village and decide to go to the make-up tent. Rachel requests a rainbow on her cheek and Kirsty decides on some glittery face-paint. As they’re getting made up, a girl wearing big sunglasses sits next them, requests a butterfly on her cheek and they all start chatting. When the make-up artists show them the mirror, they find the make-up looks extremely ugly and the make-up artists, ashamed, stop working and leave. Rachel and Kirsty discover the girl is pop star Dakota May in disguise and save her from being discovered by a group of fans who run into the tent.
Frankie the Make-up Fairy flies out from inside a make-up brush and removes Rachel and Kirsty’s horrible make-up and they decide to explore the festival for goblins. They come across an ugly muddy goblin tent where people are emerging from the tent with immaculate face-paint and make-up. Not wanting to wait the long queue, Frankie transforms Kirsty into a fashionable famous-looking person and the crowd parts to let her in. Kirsty sits down in front of the artist, Greeny and orders him to do her make-up.
Fazed by her celebrityness, Greeny agrees too takes off the clef necklace as Kirsty doesn’t want him to get it dirty. Rachel flies to his pocket where he put it and retrieves the clef. Suddenly, Jack Frost appears and Rachel flies into the make-up box to hide. Greeny can’t find the clef and Jack is livid, until Rachel sneezes, giving away her hiding place. Jack takes the make-up box and magics himself back to the Ice Castle with Rachel.
Kirsty and Frankie fly to Jack’s castle, aided by powder Rachel pushed out of the make-up box, where they find him applying icy make-up and Rachel advising him. The fairies reunite and decide on a plan, they warp Jack’s mirror like a fairground mirror to make him look ridiculous. Although he is upset, he still won’t give Frankie her clef back and Frankie decides to return the mirror to normal. This catches Jack’s attention as he spots how beautiful his make-up looks. In a paralysed daze at his own beauty, Kirsty and Frankie manage to slip the necklace off him and they return to the human world. As a thank-you, Frankie conjures up proper make-up for the girls just in time for Dakota May’s concert.
