Kirsty and Rachel are going to watch Kirsty’s friend Jenny perform in Glacier Ice Rink’s fairytale-themed ice show, but they’re worried as they have yet to retrieve the Ice Dance Ribbon. On the way to the dressing rooms to visit Jenny, Rachel catches a glimpse of green, but it’s gone when she goes to investigate. In the dressing room, Jenny is nervous, a skating coach will be watching the show and might offer her a spot in a more advanced class, but her practicing this week has been going poorly. Knowing they need to find the ribbon very soon, Kirsty goes to fetch Jenny’s skates for her and discovers Imogen the Ice Dance Fairy inside one of them. Telling Kirsty she can tell her ribbon is nearby, Imogen hides in her pocket when Kirsty gives Jenny her skates. Back in the corridor, Imogen greets Rachel and the three set off in search of Goblins.

They glimpse one goblin, who quickly hides in a storage closet. When the girls open the door they discover seven goblins all putting on hockey gear. The smallest one clutches a shiny blue ribbon despite the others’ attempts to grab it and makes a dash for the rink with the other six behind him. The girls catch up in time to see all seven skating in a long line, the ones at the back stumbling the most. Fortunately, the people already in the seats seem to have mistaken the goblins for the junior hockey team.

The smallest goblin exits the large rink and they all clatter down the hallway to another rink set up for hockey practice. Imogen turns the girls’ shoes into skates so they can follow the goblins onto the ice. Dodging the girls, the smallest goblin reminds the others they should work together to keep the ribbon away from the girls and their tricks, the goblins who’d guarded the Ballet, Jazz and Disco ribbons agree while the biggest one reminds the smallest of the freezing power they’ve been given.

The goblins begin to chase the girls, sticking close together to keep within range of the ribbon’s magic. They cut off the girls’ escape and the smallest one is about to freeze them when Imogen turns them into fairies and they fly up out of reach. Getting an idea, Rachel asks Imogen to close up the nearest hockey net on her signal. The lead the goblins straight into the net where Imogen’s magic traps them and the girls flutter out between the strands. With the goblins distracted, Kirsty is able to pull the ribbon away from them through the net and return it to Imogen. She attaches it to her wand, turns the girls back into humans with their normal shoes, then frees the goblins, magically removing their hockey gear.

Jenny and the other ice dancers perform beautifully and Jenny is offered the spot she wanted right away. Between acts, Kirsty stops at a vending machine for a drink and receives a sparkling envelope as well. When she opens it, all seven Dance Fairies and Queen Titania emerge to invite both girls to a special dance lesson in Fairyland very soon.
