Rachel and Kirsty are getting ready for the day when Mr Walker enters their tent section and shows the girls a pair of seashell earrings he’s bought for Mrs Walker’s birthday. However, they discover they’re both broken and Rachel has the idea to go to the jewellery-making workshop held by Carys Silver, where she can fix them. The girls eat breakfast quickly and head to Rainspell Island beach via the village. All the jewellery in the window displays are broken. On the promenade to the beach, they find Artie picking up the pearls of her broken necklace.

They all walk to Carys’ hut together but see a group of boys wearing green sunhats and lots of jewellery messing around on the beach. At Carys’ hut, beads are everywhere and all the kids are frustrated at their rubbish jewellery. Carys sets the girls off on the workshop and tries to fix Artie’s necklace but can’t. The girls take a look around the hut and see a jewellery box glowing and Josie the Jewellery-Making Fairy is hiding inside it.

The girls realise the boys on the beach must be Goblins if they made such beautiful jewellery, so they go onto the beach and turn into fairies to follow a trail of goblin footprints. They find the goblins building sandcastles and fighting over a spade. Josie asks a seagull what’s happening and he replies that he thinks the goblins are searching for something. Rachel notices some of the goblins’ jewellery is breaking, which means they don’t have Josie’s magic ribbon. But as the girls swoop over the sand to search for it, a goblin spots them and kicks sand at them. The fairies hide behind a bucket and the girls see the goblins running towards what could be Josie’s ribbon at the edge of the sea. To stop the goblins in their tracks, they pose as ice cream vendors. It works and the goblins run their way but one goblin spots Josie flying towards the charm. He grabs it and the goblins bask in victory.

Rachel offers the seagull an ice cream if he helps get rid of the goblins. The seagull attacks the goblins, who drop the ribbon in fright and the seagull returns the ribbon to Josie. She disappears saying goodbye and the girls go back to the workshop, where Carys has fixed Mrs Walker’s earrings and Artie’s necklace. They get to work on making their jewellery being a necklace and bracelet to go with Mrs Walker’s present. In the evening, the Tates and Walkers gather at the campsite to celebrate Mrs Walker’s birthday. The girls present her with their jewellery gifts and on their own, reveal they made each other friendship bracelets. A sparkly bead appears on the end of each one, a thank-you from Josie.
