This page compiles all the production, continuity and illustration mistakes that have occurred in the Rainbow Magic series that the users of this wiki have found in books.
Continuity errors[]
- Kirsty appears to have 3 grandmothers, one who lives in Leamouth, one on her mother's side who lives in Sundown, and one on her father’s side who lives in Wetherbury.
- Katie the Kitten Fairy's cat Shimmer is referred to as a female cat in Chapter 3, but as a male in Chapter 4 and for the remainder of the book.
- Charlotte the Sunflower Fairy's name was retconned to Charlie because of Charlotte the Baby Princess Fairy.
- The books establish that time doesn't pass in the human world when the girls are in Fairyland. At the end of Ally the Dolphin Fairy, they excitedly point out that only a minute's passed since they left, but most of the storyline happened in the human world, so in theory time should still have passed. Either that or Ally just travelled back in time.
- The potter in Kayla the Pottery Fairy is called Madeleine Potts, but in her next appearance in Roxie the Baking Fairy she is called Clayton Potts.
- In Etta the Elephant Fairy, Selma's snow leopard is called Strider. Later in Selma the Snow Leopard Fairy, it is called Dotty.
- In Teri the Trampolining Fairy, a character calls the Cool Kids Leisure Centre ‘Ice Cool’ but through the rest of the series it is called ‘Cool Kids Leisure Centre’.
- In the U.S version of Holly the Christmas Fairy, Hillfields Farm is first referred to as Lakeland Farm but remains Hillfields for the rest of the book.
- The poem in Harper the Confidence Fairy indicates her first magic item is a garland, but it's actually a badge.
Tippington-Wetherbury errors[]
- In the Endangered Animals Fairies, the safari park the girls visit is on the edge of Wetherbury Village, but it is Rachel's parents who are accompanying them.
- In Annie the Detective Fairy, Rachel says she sees toadstool rings in Wetherbury.
- In Ellen the Explorer Fairy, Rachel’s inner monologue reflects on leaving Wetherbury to go to the airport to the Congo.
- In Cara the Coding Fairy, the story takes place in Wetherbury City, but it is Mr Walker who is chaperoning the girls.
- In Greta the Earth Fairy, Rachel tells her friend that Kirsty is from Tippington. The narration also mixes up the two towns a few times.
Production errors[]
- There have been numerous times where fairies' release dates have been changed, most notably with Kat the Jungle Fairy who was delayed for 6 years.
- On the inside covers of some books where pictures of all fairies are shown, some fairies' covers are put in the wrong groups. (Read for more detail)
- In Chloe the Topaz Fairy (page 59) the author has written nearly the same sentence twice.
- In the old UK versions of Maya the Harp Fairy, the text mentions Kirsty and Rachel talking to two different goblins, but the girls in the illustrations are switched from what the text says. More recent versions, including the U.S version, correct this by editing the text.
- On the spines of the old UK covers of Rosalie the Rapunzel Fairy and Mariana the Goldilocks Fairy, if the numbers are in the right order, the spliced image of Rosalie is mixed up, is could be due to Rosalie originally being the 2nd fairy and Mariana originally being the 3rd fairy in the Storybook Fairies series before being swap before release.
- In Chelsea the Chimpanzee Fairy, the chapter titled 'The Chimp Cafe' implied the girls were going to a cafe, but the text says they went swimming.
- In Li the Labrador Fairy, Frenchie calls her own dog Frenchie. Later, Rachel and Kirsty call her dog Frenchie as well.
- On the U.S cover of Robyn the Christmas Party Fairy, she does not have wings.
- Daisy the Festival Fairy appears on the cover of 1001 Fairy Stickers which was published 2 months before her own book.
- In Susie the Sister Fairy, the same illustration is reused later in the chapter where it isn't meant to be.
- In Christina the Winter Wonderland Fairy, a passage is repeated twice (pages 86 and 88).
- In Maria the Mother's Day Fairy, the wrong fairy cover is shown at the end of Rae the Rollercoaster Fairy's excerpt.
- In the chapter contents of Ellen the Explorer Fairy, the first object is the 'Felt Flower', but the first object is actually the 'Seeking Scroll'.
- The blurb of Camilla the Christmas Present Fairy is the same as Christina the Winter Wonderland Fairy's, referencing Snowbound Island, where only Christina's story took place.
- In the first chapter, Camilla is referred to as 'Padma', whose book was published two months later.
- In Padma the Pirate Fairy, Rachel exchanges dialogue with herself.
- In Jae the Boy Band Fairy, it incorrectly states that Jae's microphone shrank to 'human size' when he touched it, instead of fairy size.
- In the print version of Charles the Coronation Fairy, the contents says Chapter 1 is 'A Disappointing Party', but the chapter heading says 'A Royal Invitation'.
- In all 3 editions of My A to Z of Fairies, Frankie the Make-up Fairy is listed as a Fashion Fairy (page 68).
- The fact file of Keira the Film Star Fairy mentions the book took place in Tippington when it was actually Wetherbury (page 104).

Typo errors[]
- There are numerous times where typos have occurred, such as 2 'to's in the Special Thanks of Shelley the Sherbet Fairy and 'clipon earrings' in Maria the Mother's Day Fairy.
- In Fatima the Face-Painting Fairy, the beginning of a sentence is cut off.
- In Chelsea the Chimpanzee Fairy, two chapters were spelt incorrectly: 'One Bouncing Bobo' as 'One Bounching Bobo' and 'A Fruit Trail' as 'A Fruit Tale'.
- 'Funnest' is used the in description for the After School Sports Fairies, which debatably isn't a proper word.
- In the copyrights of Layne the Surfing Fairy, they misspell ‘Layne Beachley’ as ‘Layne Bleachley’.

- There is a dodgy sentence in Camilla the Christmas Present Fairy.
- In Zelda the Gamer Fairy, there is an extra quotation mark. The book reads "Well done," Kirsty!".
Illustration errors[]
- In Melodie the Music Fairy, she is described as wearing a white dress but on the cover, she is wearing a pink dress.
- An illustration in Bethany the Ballet Fairy, shows Tasha without wings.
- In Alesha the Acrobat Fairy, three of Rachel's schoolmates are performing an acrobatics routine. They are illustrated in one way in every other image, whereas in the final page, the acrobats in the background are different people.
- In Chelsea the Chimpanzee Fairy, an illustration of Rachel and Kirsty as fairies (page 36) was later repeated on the last page.
- Page 62 shows Selma with her snow leopard but Rachel says the snow leopard still needs rescuing.
- In Bonnie the Bike-Riding Fairy, Rachel and Kirsty race after a goblin who is riding a bike. However, the text seems to think they're 'sprinting' and not cycling as the image shows. Arguably, they could be sprinting on their bikes, but in the scene before, Rachel's pedal fell off and Kirsty's seat post collapsed.
- In the same book, the two teenaged boys in the raft are described as wearing knight costumes, but are illustrated in t-shirts and shorts.

- On the back cover of Tilly the Teacher Fairy, the magic apple is green, but in the book it’s described as being red.
- In the first chapter of Daisy the Festival Fairy, Mr and Mrs Tate are illustrated instead of Mr and Mrs Walker. This is corrected in the next chapters.
- Later on, Rachel is described as wearing leg warmers but Kirsty is drawn wearing them.
- There is a dodgy illustration of two duplicate sets of people and a see-through bush.
- In Susie the Sister Fairy, there is an illustration where Sarah is drawn wearing Anna’s dotted shirt.
- In Maria the Mother's Day Fairy, an illustration shows a sign in Tippington that says 'Tipperton Bakery'.
- In the illustrations of Camilla the Christmas Present Fairy, she wears a cochlea implant instead of the headband on the cover.
- In the first story of Evelyn the Mermicorn Fairy, Evelyn swaps between being drawn wearing trainers and without.
