The Tates and the Walkers, including the Walkers’ dog Buttons, are taking a walk on a trail leading from Blossom Hall to Blossom Lake. It’s pretty, with an island in the middle and lots of lilypads. Kirsty notices some small rowboats for rent at a little dock and asks if she and Rachel can use one, their parents agree so long as the girls wear life vests. The boatman helps them into a boat, wondering aloud why all the water lilies that give Blossom Lake its name haven’t bloomed yet and they begin rowing towards the island. Soon, they’ve docked at the island’s little pier and begin exploring among the trees.

Louise the Lily Fairy flutters out of a bush to greet the girls, warning them that Jack Frost’s goblins are on the island already, looking for the magic lily petal. She shows them a rapidly-melting ice bridge that the goblins made with their icy magic wand to reach the island from the far shore. Near it, all seven goblins dangle in a chain from a tree branch over the water, reaching for the lily petal floating below them. Rachel shouts and startles the sixth goblin into dropping the seventh, who soon climbs out of the lake with the petal in his hand. Kirsty demands he give it back and all the goblins begin to run across the island. To the girls’ dismay, the goblins crowd into the little rowboat and untie it, drifting away onto the lake. Fortunately, Louise turns the girls into fairies and they can give chase.

At first it looks like the girls and Louise will catch up, but the goblins manage to sort out who will be captain and who will row and the boat pulls away towards a concealed beach on the lake shore. Louise leads the girls ahead and turns them human to wait on the beach for the goblins. As the boat approaches, the goblin with the ice wand casts a spell and creates an enormous wave that looms over the girls, then Louise turns them back into fairies and they only barely escape in time. The wave picks up the rowboat, flipping it over and depositing it on the beach with the goblins trapped underneath before receding. Louise uses her magic to free the goblins, who are grumbling among themselves over whose fault the wave disaster was, while Rachel spies the petal floating a short distance from shore. The goblin with the wand sees her, Kirsty and Louise retrieving the petal and raises the wand, but the other goblins jump on him and refuse to let him cast another spell, instead bringing him along as they all stomp away.

Louise turns the girls back into humans and uses a bit of magic to flip the boat upright and dry it off, then slide it smoothly onto the water once the girls have sat down. She returns to Fairyland with her petal and as the girls row back to the boathouse they notice water lilies blooming all around them, to the boatman’s delight when he greets them at the dock.
