Rachel and Kirsty are on their way to the Summer Friends Club on Rainspell Island and run into some friends they made, Oscar and Lara. When they all get to the club, the organisers Ginny and Jen announce a special guest, Mr Twinkle, a TV magician. They race each other to Rainspell Park to await his arrival. Soon enough, he rides over to the kids on a unicycle and greets them with a flower that squirts water in their faces. No one is amused. The girls realise this is because Mimi the Laughter Fairy’s magic object is missing, so no one finds anything funny. Meanwhile, Mr Twinkle has pulled out a cream pie from his hat and is chasing Jen around with it until she defiantly tells him to stop, showing she’s not joking around. He cycles off, dejected.
From inside the cream pie, Mimi appears and hides in Kirsty’s pocket. Three Goblins wearing sparkly green clothing cycle over to the group on unicycles and Rachel guesses they’re here to hog all the fun of making people laugh. Whichever goblin who makes the children laugh the most must have Mim’s object, so they watch closely. The goblins entertain with lame jokes and magic tricks that receive silent reception. Confused that none of them seem to have the magic pendant, the girls turn into fairies and hide in the fountain to hear the goblins sulk. The goblins reveal Jack Frost has taken the magic object to win the Fairyland Funny Show, so Mimi magics the girls to Fairyland.
In The Fairyland Palace garden, a stage has been set up and the Showtime Fairies are performing. Rachel and Kirsty find their show extremely funny, but none of the other fairies do. At that moment, two goblins riding a disco ball are lowered onto the stage and Jack Frost bursts out of it and starts telling "funny" jokes, and the audience replies with roaring laughter. The girls decide to distract him pretending to be fangirls and he invites them backstage after the show for an autograph. Impatient, the girls ask Mimi to magic up some cream pies and they throw them at Jack Frost. He orders them to give him the pies to throw, since he’s the joke-maker, not them. The girls agree to take the pendant in exchange for a tray of cream pies. He pelts them at the goblins, but ends up slipping around in cream himself and drops the biggest pie on his own face. Although he no longer has the pendant, the crowd are cheering with laughter and Jack Frost is enjoying it a bit too much.
Mimi sends Rachel and Kirsty back to Rainspell Park where Mr Twinkle is back and telling funny jokes. When the show’s over, all the kids have fun playing on the way back to the club and the girls invite the goblin magicians to join in too.
