Monica the Marshmallow Fairy is the first fairy in the Candy Land Fairies series.

Kirsty and Rachel are delighted to be invited to Fairyland for the annual Candy Harvest. But when Monica the Marshmallow Fairy's magical object goes missing, they find themselves in a sticky situation! Can the girls save the Fairyland Sweet Factory from a bitter end?
Appearance[]
Monica has shoulder-length mouse-brown hair. She wears a fluffy white shirt, a buttoned blue denim skirt and pink wedge-heeled sandals with a star pendant. Her wings are pointed and peach-tinted.

Kirsty greets Rachel as she places her suitcase on her bed. Kirsty's mother, Mrs Tate, gives her the phone to talk to her Aunt Harri and Kirsty excitedly announces that her aunt is taking them back to Candy Land. Suddenly Rachel's suitcase opens with a fairy flying out. She introduces herself as Monica the Marshmallow Fairy and asks the girls if they like to go to Fairyland, which they agree. After being turned into fairies and whisked away to the Fairyland Sweet Factory, Monica introduces Rachel and Kirsty to the other Candy Land Fairies and they tell the girls that they are in charge of making sweets delicious with the help of their magical sweets and show them.
Monica plucks some marshmallows off a tree and Rachel eats them. The fairies invite the girls to their candy harvest and harvest feast and they say yes. Then a cackle is heard and Jack Frost and his Goblins appear from behind the trees. They shake the trees until enough sweets fall and Monica steps forward to say that sweets should be shared. Jack Frost retorts, saying no one should have sweets and the goblins charge the Candy Land Fairies, stealing their magic sweets. Then he and the goblins vanish. The fairies are upset until Rachel says she read Jack Frost's lips and figured out he told the goblins to go to the human world to hide the sweets. The girls and Monica return to Kirsty's bedroom and they hear an engine. Kirsty looks out of her window and suggests to Monica to come with them.
The girls greet Aunt Harri, who quickly explains that Candy Land came up with an idea to reward children who have done good deeds with sweets and the first winner is a boy called Ori who volunteers at the Tree House Club. As they drive to the woods, the girls find a bag filled with melted marshmallows. When they arrive, they meet Calvin and Carlotta, the leaders of the Tree House Club and Aunt Harri's old school friends. The girls go on ahead to the tree house, where they find Ori and a group of children staring up, when suddenly snowballs get flung out of the windows. It's not snow, it's marshmallow. After getting caught up in it, Ori tells the girls that he tried talking to the boys in the tree house but they cackled and squawked at him. The girls recognise what he's talking about, it's goblins. Kirsty pulls Rachel into a clearing, where Monica turns them into fairies and they fly up to the tree house, watching three goblins throwing marshmallow out of the windows. They enter and they watch a long nosed goblin using Monica's magical marshmallow to fill the bucket up. After nearly getting hit, Kirsty suggests a marshmallow fight and the three fairies fire marshmallows at each of the goblins, causing them to fight. Rachel swoops down to get the magic marshmallow, but the goblin sees her and mentions that he wants bogmallows.
Monica pulls Rachel aside, explaining her marshmallow can't make bogmallows which is why marshmallow is appearing instead. Kirsty comes up with an idea. After turning back into humans, she asks Monica to magic up some bogmallows. When a big bowl of them appear, the girls carry them into the tree house. The goblins are excited and Kirsty asks for a swap. The goblins are worried what Jack Frost might say, but hand over the marshmallow anyway. They happily gobble up their bogmallows while the girls, with Monica in Kirsty's pocket, decide to run back to the van to check on the bag of marshmallows. They are perfect again and later that day, along with Aunt Harri, they surprise Ori. He is delighted and offers to share with everyone, but the goblins decline. Everyone sits around the campfire when night falls. Rachel and Kirsty climb up into the tree house once more, where Monica thanks them for their help and rewards them with marshmallows. She shows them how to make taffy before disappearing. The girls eat their taffy and hug, before promising to help the Candy Land Fairies and Rachel says it will be an exciting week.
