Jack Frost's Poem[]
I want the fairies to be sad,
And human beings to feel bad.
When I control the butterflies,
I'll give them all a cold surprise.
With Sianne's magic in my hand,
I'll change the ways of Fairyland.
Humans will be full of fear,
And butterflies will disappear!

The Felt Flower[]
Kirsty and Rachel are going to Wetherbury Butterfly Centre with Kirsty's parents. They all join a tour group led by Fred, and meet the other people in their group. An old couple comment on two young women eating carrots because they like to stay healthy as if it’s an astounding thing to witness, then everyone enters the butterfly area where Fred points out the different types of butterflies. Rachel and Kirsty spot a butterfly that seems to be waiting for them, so they follow it to a secluded area. A fairy flies out from under a bridge, it’s Sianne. She explains the importance of butterflies to Fairyland and that Jack Frost has stolen her magic objects.
Just then, the girls notice the butterflies flying to Fairyland so Sianne turns them into fairies and they all follow the butterflies over the butterfly house and transition into Fairyland. Sienna the Saturday Fairy and Sarah the Sunday Fairy meet them and say how they saw a load of butterflies heading towards the Ice Castle. The three fairies fly over there and spot a glass house containing scared-looking butterflies. Goblins are guarding the door. The fairies fly over the castle grounds looking for a way in. The goblins who spot them don’t seem to be that concerned, and then Jack Frost pokes his head out of the window, taunting them about Sianne’s hidden objects.
The fairies think hard about where the felt flower could be, and they realise it must be somewhere in the flowerbeds. Jack Frost isn’t so jaunty now and has come out of his castle to stop them, but it’s too late. Kirsty finds the felt flower in a flowerbed and gives it to Sianne. The butterflies in the glasshouse escape and the goblins run away. Sianne magics the girls back to the Butterfly Centre, promising to come back.
The Crystal Chrysalis[]
The girls land back in the Butterfly Centre and rejoin their tour group. As Fred shows them a chrysalis, the group seems to be arguing, and mocks Fred for everything he says. The old couple leaves because they think all children nowadays are badly behaved, and everyone starts arguing again. The girls spot goblins dressed as humans wander into the butterfly area, so they run to the bridge to ask the butterflies to send a message to Sianne. But Sianne’s already at the bridge, and she turns the girls into fairies to look for the goblins. They overhear Fred talking to another tour guide, saying how the chrysalises haven’t opened yet.
The fairies find the two goblins plucking chrysalises and putting them into pouches. As the fairies confront them, they laugh and juggle the pouches, distressing Sianne. Kirsty has an idea and asks Sianne to magic up more identical pouches so the goblins might get confused. The girls turn back into humans and they all start playing catch with the pouches, the girls searching through each bag they catch for chrysalises. They find two, but remember the goblins had three pouches, meaning the crystal chrysalis must have been in the other. The goblins and girls race to find it, and Kirsty grabs it, giving it back to Sianne. The goblins leave, squabbling over who will be in the most trouble. Rachel and Kirsty go back to the bridge to see Sianne off, then they hear Mrs Tate calling for them as the chrysalises have started opening.
The Silver Wings[]
Just when they thought their trip was over, Mrs Tate announces she’s booked the girls a glider flight, and they all had up to the glider station. They meet a girl in a wheelchair called Sunny, and her parents. She tells them all her life she’s dreamed of being able to fly, and now she’s here for a glider ride. The instructors Meg and Harry set up the equipment, but things are going wrong and rope is getting tangled. Fred comes up to the station to say that the butterflies aren’t flying either, so no one will be flying today. The girls find Sianne near the entrance and she takes them to Fairyland, showing them a glasshouse in the shape of a butterfly which is where she lives. There are goblins inside, and the door won’t open, so the three fairies push it open together to find goblins causing havoc inside.
Kirsty realises that they must be a distraction for the real plan, and they all begin thinking of what the plan could be. They come to a realisation that he might be trying to steal the crystal chrysalis and felt flower again, and follow Sianne through a secret passageway to a hidden room, where Jack Frost is leering over a glass case containing the two magic objects. Rachel orders him to give the silver wings back but of course, he won’t. Rachel and Kirsty each grab one of his arms and Sianne grabs her two remaining objects to keep them safe. Jack Frost magics himself away on a storm cloud, Rachel and Kirsty holding onto it as it speeds off.
The cloud ends up on a mountain and the girls hide themselves, watching Jack Frost reveal the silver wings hidden inside a boulder on the mountain. Just as they’re about to grab it, Jack Frost spots them and the boulder shuts. Kirsty whispers to Rachel to make him even angrier, so they start teasing him about his cowardliness. Rachel dives at him, flinging him into the boulder, opening it. Kirsty grabs the silver wings and flies high into the air. Just as Jack Frost is about to cast a spell, Sianne flies over and magics the girls back to her home. The butterflies are flying, the sun is shining, and Sianne thanks the girls for their help. She sends them back to the human world where the instructors have managed to set up the gliding equipment. The girls watch Sunny as she and Harry soar over the Butterfly Centre. When it’s their turn, they call out how gliding is just like being fairies.
