The Magical Missing Candle[]
Rachel and Kirsty are going to Wetherbury Village’s Christmas Fair to watch the parade. The village square is bustling and bubbling with excitement as The Mayor and Molly, Kirsty’s school friend who was chosen to be Christmas Queen, switch on the Christmas lights.
Suddenly, each and every one of the lights flicker out and the Mayor tells everyone to enjoy the fair as they get the lights fixed. Mr and Mrs Tate walk ahead back home but the girls spot a few illuminated lights and Stella the Star Fairy flies out to greet them. She explains Jack Frost and his goblins want to ruin Christmas yet again.
The next morning, the girls go Christmas shopping and see a group of children singing carols in the square. Further inspection reveals one child, the shortest and the worst singer, is holding a sparkling candle. The green nose poking out from under his hood confirms it’s a goblin. Kirsty comes up with an idea and asks Stella to magic up an identical candle and leaves to buy some bags of sweets.
The girls offer all the carol singers sweets and they politely take one, except for the goblin who takes a handful of wrapped boiled sweets... but he can’t unwrap them while holding the candle in his other hand. Rachel eats a sweet and manages to convince the goblin to let Kirsty take the candle while he unwraps one.
She swaps the candles over and once he’s done, gives him back the fake candle. Stella takes the girls to Fairyland where they meet King Oberon and Queen Titania and Stella places the candle back on the tree. The girls return to the human world and see the lights are working again and go back to their Christmas shopping.
Snowballs and Baubles[]
The girls wake up to snow falling and go to have breakfast, passing Mr Tate who is busy fixing their Christmas tree lights. Later in the day, they walk to the park where they find many people playing and having snowball fights. They begin to build a snowman and as Rachel leaves to find a twig for a nose, Stella flies over carrying a big carrot.
They finally notice what the group of children next to them are building and they’re building very mean-looking snowmen, or snow-goblins. The six goblins start a snowball fight and the girls creep around them looking for signs of the Magic Bauble. They find a goblin making a stash of snowballs with something pure white in his lap. It’s the bauble!
As the snowball fight intensifies, the goblin gets up to offer his supply of snowballs and the bauble falls off his lap. The girls try and grab it but the goblins catch them and start throwing snowballs at them. Stella turns them into fairies and they dart their way over to the bauble, dodging snowballs as big as houses.
She sprinkles fairy dust over an incoming snowball and it turns into a bauble, identical to her own. The goblins are convinced someone threw the magic bauble but as they scramble to find it, Stella magics a shower of baubles after the girls have pinpointed the real bauble.
Together, Rachel and Kirsty lift the bauble out from the snow and fly upwards and by this point the goblins have given up searching and start arguing. Back in Fairyland, the girls hang the bauble on the tree and Queen Titania highlights the importance of getting the final object back. She sends them back to Wetherbury and they find the Tates’ Christmas tree lights working, with Mr Tate proud of himself for switching every bulb on the string. The girls share a smile at the true reason they started working again.
Search for the Star[]
It’s Christmas Eve and the girls are busy clearing the snow off the Tates’ paths when a robin flies down to them with Stella on its back. In preparation to go to Goblin Grotto, she shrinks the girls down to the size of goblins and turns them green, giving them time to practise putting on their angriest scowls. They wrap up warm and Stella takes them to Goblin Grotto.
Kirsty sees the star on the top of the Christmas tree in the centre of the village and they make their way over there, finding crowds of goblins gathered by the tree, selling pies, singing carols and all wrapped up warm. Stella decides to fly to the top of the tree and push it off, the girls catching it when it falls. Rachel and Kirsty join the group of singing goblins and Rachel sees the star falling and catches it. Luckily no one has noticed yet. But a goblin has caught onto their suspicious behaviour and won’t stop staring at them. Just then, someone calls out that the star is missing and they can see Stella. At the same time, the goblin sees sparks of light coming from under Rachel’s coat and calls them out. Rachel grabs Kirsty’s hand and runs.
An angry mob of goblins chase them through the village, with more stepping out their houses to see what was going on. Stella joins them and they continue running, but they end up back at the Christmas tree. As the goblins surround them, they decide to do something risky - lay the star on the floor, turn into fairies and lift it together. It works and chaos ensues on the ground as the goblins scramble to catch them and the Christmas tree falls over, to much amusement of the goblin children.
The fairies fly back to Fairyland where all the fairies in the land are waiting for them. They put the star at the top of the Christmas tree, just in time for Santa Claus who is starting his delivery round. The star sets off a spectacular show of sparkles and Stella thanks them profusely, sending them back home. They look up to the sky and see the stars shining again.
Then Santa rides across on his sleigh with his Reindeer, leaving a shining gold message ‘Merry Christmas Rachel and Kirsty’ waving to them before disappearing into the night. Just then, Mrs Tate calls to the girls that Rachel's parents are here to collect her and the girls wish each other and all the fairies, a Merry Christmas.
