Storm the Lightning Fairy is the sixth fairy in the Weather Fairies series.

Storm controls the rumble of thunder and the flash of lightning during a storm. Her purple wand shoots out little crackling lightning bolts with every wave.
Storm has a very loud voice (probably because she always has to be heard over the thunder) which makes it tricky when she goes along on an adventure that requires being sneaky.

Storm the Lightning Fairy can't stop the sky from fizzing without her glittery lightning feather. Rachel and Kirsty must lend a hand before a loose lightning bolt causes terrible trouble.
Appearance[]
Storm has straight blonde hair. She wears a dark purple, long-sleeved trouser suit with lightning bolts on the sleeves and legs. She wears black loafers and wears a yellow pendant in the shape of a lightning bolt. Her wings are pointy and lilac-tinted.

Kirsty and Rachel are walking to the park, unhappy at the idea that the next day is Rachel’s last day visiting Kirsty. A sudden rainstorm sends them running for cover under a tree, which is soon hit by some very sparkly lightning, making the whole branch glitter. Kirsty reminds Rachel that trees aren’t good shelter even in a magical thunderstorm, and they hurry through town to take shelter in the nearest building, the Wetherbury Museum.
Rachel is startled by roar, which Kirsty explains is a dinosaur model in one of the galleries. She demonstrates the buttons that make the model roar and "eat" a model fish. Just before the storm knocks out the power, the girls overhear a puzzled tour guide say the fairy exhibit must be new, and they hurry over to let Storm the Lightning Fairy out of a glass case as soon as the coast is clear.
Storm tells them that the goblin with her feather had shut her in the museum case, and that it’s important to get the feather back before someone gets hurt by lightning. The red-eyed goblin appears, sending lightning bolts all over the room and narrowly missing the girls when he spots them. A second attack singes Rachel’s coat, and Storm tells the girls turn themselves into fairies to make smaller targets. Kirsty does so, but Rachel’s locket has come off and fallen behind a case, out of a human’s reach. The goblin and his lightning bolts are between Kirsty and the locket, and between Storm and Rachel, so Rachel runs through the museum as a human, dodging the bolts. Kirsty spies a mirror and confirms with Storm that fairy lightning can’t break solid objects, then gets the goblin’s attention, placing herself between him and the mirror.
She waits until the last second to dodge, so the lightning bounces off the mirror straight back at the goblin. In his haste to get away, the goblin trips, dropping the Lightning Feather, and stumbles into the fake river at the model dinosaur’s feet. Storm pushes both buttons at once with fairy dust, and the roaring model picks up the goblin and swallows him whole. Kirsty turns herself human while Storm returns Rachel’s locket, urging them to leave before the goblin climbs out of the dinosaur. Outside, Storm clears the weather and fixes the burned hem of Rachel’s coat, and they return to Kirsty’s house to give Doodle the Lightning Feather. Squawking "goblins fail”", Doodle finishes his message: “Beware! Jack Frost will come if his goblins fail!”. This worries the girls, but Kirsty reminds Rachel that they’ve outwitted Jack Frost before and can do so again.

Etymology[]
Storm's name comes from the weather occurrence, storms. Storms are violent disturbances of the atmosphere, consisting of rain, thunder, lightning, and snow.
